Retired IPS In West Bengal Commits Suicide, Holds Mamata Banerjee Responsible In Note

Gaurav Chandra Dutt, an Indian Police Service officer of the 1986 batch, has committed suicide by slitting his wrist. He was rushed to hospital after his wife found him lying in a pool of blood, but he was declared dead.

In the suicide note he blamed CM Mamata Banerjee for victimizing him for 10 years. He also targeted the TMC government for harassing him despite having an outstanding career. He has taken voluntary retirement last year.

His father, Gopal Dutt, was also an IPS officer from the 1939 batch who had joined the first batch of Research & Analysis Wing (R&AW) upon its formation.
